This short program offers a mix of culture, coastal charm, and historic exploration between Marrakech, the Atlantic city of Essaouira, and the modern metropolis of Casablanca.
Tour Plan
CASABLANCA (35 Km)
Arrival at the airport Mohamed V. transfer to the Hotel in Casablanca. If earlier arrival, the PM Visit of Casablanca the economic capital of the kingdom. Visit of the city will including the Habous district, the Outside part of Hassan Il mosque (one of the largest mosques all over the Islamic world) and la Corniche boulevard. Back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
CASABLANCA - RABAT – TANGIER (350 Km )
Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Rabat, administrative capital; Visit: Mechouar esplanade, entrance to the Royal Palace, Chellah (13th century merinid necropolis), Mohamed V mausoleum (white marble pavilion crowned with green tiles), Hassan tower S) and Kasbah des Oudayas (first royal residence). Afternoon, continuation to Tangier. We will reach after (approx. 230 km). Visit of Tangier, crossing of Europe and Africa, the Atlantic and the Mediterranean: big socco and small socco and Medina. Walk to Cape Spartel arid the caves of Hercules. Dinner and Overnight in Tangier.
TANGIER- TETOUAN - CHEFCHAOUEN - FES
Breakfast and start earlier our long Journey. You will see the port of Tanger Med specialized in the trans-shipment of containers. We reach the city of Tetouan : Place Moulay el Mehdi, entrance to the Royal Palace, Bab Okla. Departure to the pearl of the Rif: Lunch Free. Chaouen (Chefchaouen), holy city of the 15th century. Located 600 meters above sea level, in the Rif chain, which has an important religious heritage (mosques, zaouias, oratories and mausoleums). Afternoon Continuation to Fez (via the city of Volubilis the extraordinary Ruins of Romans (Panorama View). HB in Fes.
FES - MEKNES - FES
Breakfast and departure to Meknes and visit of the city. Lunch free and afternoon back to Fes. Remain time will be devoted to the sightseeing of Fes: the Medressa Bouanania and the Nejjarine Fountain and V Mausoleum Moulay Idriss and la Medina. Afternoon, visit of the souks. Back for Dinner and Overnight in Fes.
FES - BENI MELLAL - MARRAKECH ( 300 Km +200 Km )
After breakfast departure to Marrakech via Ifrane ( a delightful ski resort), Azrou (a Berber village known for its handcraft co-operative filled with wood carving and carpets. Stop in Beni Mellal and late Afternoon arrival in Marrakech for dinner and Overnight. Possibility of short visit of Jemaa fna square by night.
MARRAKECH
Breakfast and the entire remind of day will be devoted to sightseeing Marrakech, the second oldest of the imperial cities and definitely the "Pearl of the south". Founded at the end of 11th century, Marrakech sits in a lush oasis nestled at the foot of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains. We start with the Dar Si Said Museum and Bahia Palace (Majorelle gardens optional). PM, the returning of the centre of Marrakech you will visit the old Medina (walled city) which is a labyrinth of small streets and alleyways, at the fabulous souks where you can find everything from herbs and spices, to carpets and beds, brass and wood and lovely silk materials. dinner and overnight.
MARRAKECH - ESSAOUIRA
From Marrakech we drive to west direction to the white city of Essaouira Arriving in the old Portuguese town of Essaouira- the setting for Orsen wells film, Othello. Built on a rocky peninsula, where the shoreline is largely exposed to strong winter tides and gale force winds, "ESSAOUIRA" the old name "EL MOGADOR" will overwhelm you by its isolation. Surrounded by mimosa plants to stop the drifting dunes, the town contains a classic style of ancient rampart. "ESSAOUIRA” has survived the years, and remains a town of great antiquity. This town with its purple islands off the coast (named after the dyes which the Romans used to dye their togas ) is famous for its wood-inlay work and indeed as one walks around the town the smell of the wood is everywhere. Free time is allowed to wander around for a little while and explore the tiny alleyways that make up the Medina. The charm of this town is the mixture of Portuguese and Arab architecture.
